GRAY: Edna Elizabeth Stevenson, 88, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in a local hospital. The family will receive friends from
2:00 - 3:00pm, Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Elam Baptist Church in Gray, prior to a 3:00pm funeral, with Rev. Gary Thomas and
Rev. Randy Mimbs officiating. Burial will follow at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens in Jones County.
Mrs. Stevenson, born on May 30, 1921, in Etowah, Tennessee, had lived in Gray for the past thirty-six years and was the
daughter of the late Marvin Quinton Carpenter and Lillie Wright Carpenter. She was a devoted homemaker, a Red Hat Lady and
was also an Avon Representative for twenty-five years. Mrs. Stevenson was also a member of Elam Baptist Church, where she
was also a member of the PrimeTimers. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Lee Stevenson, the manager of Lakeside
Park.
Mrs. Stevenson is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Lynn and Roger Hawke and Brenda and Jimmy Wasden; son: Ronny
Stevenson; sister: Cora Mimbs; sister-in-law: Mylene Stevenson; grandchildren and spouses: Alicia and Cal Parker, Erin and
Derek Harden, Preston Hawke, Carla Wasden, Craig Wasden and Wilson Turner; great-grandchildren: Bristol Parker, Lexi Hawke,
Mia Harden, Micah Harden and Chloe Harden; and by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing,
Macon, Georgia 31210, Elam Baptist Church Youth Group, 203 Elam Church Road, Gray, Georgia 31032 or to the American Cancer
Society, Post Office Box 4406, Macon, Georgia 31208.
